NEW RECORD!  The Rowan Brothers have signed a deal with BOS Music (www.bosmusic.com), and a new two-disc set entitled "Now And Then" hit stores on September 7.  34 songs deep, the release showcases both the best songs of Chris and Lorin's career, as well as an incredible collection of new material that seamlessly slides between genres and generations. Disc one ("Now") features 17 newly recorded songs that are laced with tight harmonies, haunting melodies and underscored by crisp guitar, mandolin and steel guitar picking. They offer a versatile and exciting mixture of bluegrass-flavored folk and Everly Brothers style rock and country. Contrasting the new tracks are 17 vintage cuts (all previously unreleased in the US and making their debut on CD). These tracks date from the duo's early 70s pop-rock forays with David Grisman. "Now And Then" features an impressive cast of backing players including: Hal Blaine, Jerry Garcia, Richard Greene, David Grisman, Jim Keltner, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, Mookie Siegel, Barry Sless, and many more

Lorin is currently working on new recordings of originals songs for his new CD “Rattlebox” which so far features musicians Doug Harman on cello and piano; Barry Sless, steel guitar; Michael Spiro, percussion; James Henry, percussion ; Mookie Sigel, piano. The concept of ‘Rattlebox’ is the melting pot of Latin music rhythms from the Caribbean, Brazil, African highlife with American roots folk./rock/country.

Also, now available, Lorin, with his brothers Peter and Chris, "The Rowan Brothers" have begun performing nationally (kick off date was Merlefest April 2003) with the new release of their long awaited reunion CD “Crazy People”

. The last CD they made together was "Tree on a Hill" (Sugar Hill Records), which

featured acoustic roots harmonies and music. This new CD is a fusion of

acoustic swing/reggabilly (reggae meets bluegrass "hillbilly"). Some of the

stellar musicians include Jerry Douglas (dobro), Sam Bush (mandolin), Edgar

Myer (acoustic bass), the late Roy Husky Jr. (acoustic bass), Larry Atamanuk

(drums - Emmylou Harris Band), Flaco Jimenez (accordion), Dick Bright (fiddle), James Henry (percussion)

Also, near completion, new duet CD of brothers Chris and Lorin, with original songs and a few choice classics which range from early Everly Bros./Louvin Bros to contemporary alt- country.

Stay tuned for more soon!!!!!
